Topics I've Started

  1. Trap

    Posted 18 May 2012

Looking for a small second hand Sputnik or stall trap (something similar) to save me having to build one! Cheers.
  2. How Long To Leave Food With Babies

    Posted 17 May 2012

Just weaned some babies away today and there will be more weaned over the next 3-4 days. How long should they be left with corn all day for? Obviously wanna get them trained to my call ASAP but don't want to rush anything.
  3. Open Hole On Coronation Street!

    Posted 16 May 2012

Looking for opinions please! I live in a terraced house, very much Coronation Street style! If you Google Earth Newport Street in Leicester you will see what I mean. I want to fly the old birds next year on open hole and wondered if anybody had ever done it in this type of set-up or know somebody who has and what their experience was like.

Also, regarding the feeding, how do people get birds to trap on open hole at the end of the day? Or is the loft just shut up at night once the birds are all back?

    Thanks in advance.

    John
  4. When Plans Change!

    Posted 6 May 2012

So.....I was all set up to get the timber delivered for my Red Rose Starter loft and had it all planned out and then I seen this at B&Q with an extra 20% off as well!

    New loft!

I have limited space due to being in a terrace garden so I am going to take the panel off that is next to the shelter and move it to the back of the shelter, giving me basically a 6'x6' internal area. I am then going to put a 6'x4' aviary on the end opposite the door. Then a couple of cat flap style traps that DOVEScot has got on You Tube in the space where the window nshould be. Obviously will add some vents in and need to get soem form of light into the loft, possibly through the roof, but the basics are there already! Have a few cats in the area so the cat flaps are a necessity as I want to fly them on open hole. Let's see how it goes!
  5. Halstead Dvd'S

    Posted 15 Apr 2012

Does anyone have any of the John Halstead widowhood DVD's that I can buy or borrow?

    Thanks, John.
