Hi Guys i am new to the forum and also new to all of this. what i am after is some information or a good book to buy that will give me all the information i will need to keep some pigeons i am not after racing them am just after having a few birds about. i prefer the idea of having them in a cote but how do you go about getting them used to there cote before releasing them? any information is much appreciated also will be looking for some birds at some point but not after spending money on racing stock.

Regards Sam

hello Sam ,theres a whole host of books out there , might be an idea to take a look in the library first . as regards settling them to a dovecote theres a net you can place over it whilst they get used to it , or if young enough ,will settle fine anyway . good luck.

i built a dovecote to try house pigeons and it was allot bigger than those you can buy yet the birds never liked it hence why i have bought a small shed plus you have more control over you birds this way hence getting your bird in when you want instead of them hanging about in neighbours gardens.

this is what i found anyway buy im sure some may have more success
