Thought I'd try a wee SNFC quiz.If it goes down well will put some more up over the next few weeks

You've a Friday night disco could make Thursday night quiz night

Sorry if its excluding any of the members outwith Scotland, its a trial run and if it works well will make some more "all round" questions up.

Try your best without looking and the occasional clue will be given

1.Who was the first fancier to win Rennes on the day??

2."Blue Blitz" was an exceptional pigeon winning 1st and 2nd Rennes in consecutive seasons-Not many like it.There was a bird that won 4th and 3rd Rennes in consecutive years. What was it called and who raced it?

3.Who is the furthest North fancier to have won the SNFC all race average?

4.John Hodgson is one of the most decorated fanciers in SNFC history with 7 SNFC wins.In what year did he first win the South section?

5.Since the second world war how many lofts have won a SNFC race in consecutive seasons?

6.Which loft is the SNFC's furthest North open winner?

7.What is the lowest winning velocity in the history of the club?

8."Mill Queen" was a fantastic racer and breeder. Her best SNFC position was 24th open Rennes. What was her duaghter "Mill Princess" best from the same racepoint?

9.Who raced the pigeon "High Noon"?

10.Which fancier raced the pigeon that was the SNFC's furthest ever open winner??

11.Two fanciers have won the best average for Gold Cup/longest race with one pigeon.who are they?

12.Who was the first fancier in the West section to win the YB national?

13.How many times was the great hen "Fortune Lady" in the first 20 open SNFC?

14.Who raced the youngest ever SNFC gold award winner?

15.Wally Pope of London bought the famous "Galabank Prince" at Johnny Kirkpatrick's clearance sale. This bird escaped, whos loft did it return to?

Hope this is of interest to some members :)

Thought about a way of making this quiz format a bit better if yous wnated it to become a bit more of a regular thing.

Could maybe put questions up on a Wednesday all answers to be PM'd to an independant adjudicator  by Thursday midnight.

If enough members are interested yous could sort yourselves out into teams and converse via PM.

If we do it up until the racing starts could maybe have a wee quiz league table etc.

Its only an idea, hopefully give some folk a bit of interest until the days get longer again and we start spending the nights out at the dookit.

I asked Derek Norden about Danny Boy at the AGM actually as I thought it was down through his old family,he told me it was down through Leen Boers pigeons-it was some doo either way :emoticon-0137-clapping: .

A wee clue about 4th and 3rd,it was a hen.It was 580miles from Rennes to its loft and it was on the night both times.
